I need to find out about asset protection and llc information.

My boss asked me what is an llc. I told him I wasn't familiar with the term and he told me to do some research and find the answer to the question what is an llc. Now I have to go home tonight and find llc information. He also wants me to familiarize myself with asset protection before our meeting tomorrow. I really don't have time tonight to do all this research on llc information or asset protection, but I have to answer the question what is an llc if I want to make my boss happy and keep my job.
